School Age

School-aged children are gaining knowledge and experiences with the world around them. At Grace Kidz, we want that to include the spiritual aspect, too. Our screened, background checked, and trained volunteers love teaching children this age and getting to know them more personally.

What your child will be learning:

We’ll learn about God’s word, who God is, and how to live a God-honoring life. Our 1st – 4th graders use the Gospel Project for Kids. The curriculum takes them through the entire Bible, where they’ll see how Jesus is connected to each story. Children will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story – God’s story of redemption.

Our 5th and 6th Graders use the Gospel Project for Students. This curriculum follows the same storyline, but gets much deeper into the stories, as students will discover the big picture of what God has been doing throughout redemptive history, and what it means for them.

What your child might do:

Your child will be welcomed by their small group teacher so they can connect and get caught up on each other’s week. Then they will move to a large group time, where they will worship the Lord with singing, watch a short lesson video, and do an activity related to the lesson. Time will also be spent learning Bible verses and “The Big Picture Question." Afterward, they will meet in a small group with the same friends and a dedicated teacher each week so relationships can be built and deep discussions can take place.

Well-Versed Kid Program:

We value Bible Memory and encourage the children to memorize Bible Passages in our Well-versed Kid program. This program is optional, as most memorization will be done at home. Each grade level is given a different set of key verses and passages to memorize. Once a set of verses is memorized, your child will be awarded a ribbon. Other prizes might also be awarded. If your child can recite all the verses in the packet at once, they become a Well-versed Kid! They will receive a gift certificate and recognition in the Worship Service.
